On November 11 2024, H.E. Ambassador Wang Xuefeng visited Sonderborg and had friendly exchanges with Mayor Lauritzen.

Ambassador Wang said that the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee made strategic arrangements for further deepening reforms, put forward more than 300 major reform measures, and stressed the need to accelerate the comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development. Sonderborg is a well-known green city in Denmark, and has good cooperation with Chinese cities such as Baoding in the field of green and low-carbon development. Next year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Denmark. China has implemented a visa-free policy for Denmark and is willing to deepen economic and trade cooperation with local Danish cities, including Sonderborg, expand cultural and  people-to-people exchanges to provide strong impetus for China-Denmark friendship and bilateral cooperation.

Lauritzen introduced Sonderborg's advantageous industries and cooperation with China, and expressed his willingness to continue to strengthen friendly exchanges with Chinese cities such as Baoding and Haiyan, encourage enterprises to invest in China, and jointly promote mutually beneficial cooperation in green and cultural sectors between China and Denmark.
